The Ypres museums, the academy, the cultural centre and the art galleries jointly organise the annual event “Art in Ypres”.
During this weekend, art takes centre stage in multiple forms. We invite the residents of Ypres, but also art lovers from outside Ypres to come and experience art in the city.
The galleries can be visited during this weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.


On Friday evening, there will be a keynote by Willem Elias “Art, the unmissable misery” in the historical setting of the old post office building in Rijselstraat.

Is Art in Ypres a free event?

Art in Ypres is organised by the various partners and offered to you free of charge. Entrance to the partners and museums is completely free.

Do I need to register for the event or certain parts?

You only need to register for the nocturne at the Merghelynck Museum and the Yper Museum. The guided art walk also requires registration, see link.

Can I just walk into a gallery, even if I don’t want to buy anything?

The galleries are freely accessible, even if you don’t want to buy anything. Be sure to drop in and enjoy the exhibitions.
